A recording of my live demo for Art Spectrum Kota – India
Welcome to my little watercolor demo and greetings from Germany. First I´d like to say thank you so much to Shalini for inviting me and Stella for suggesting me. It is a great honour and pleasure to contribute to this wonderful project and group with a painting. Sorry, I am not very talkative while I paint, because I mainly use watercolor painting for meditation. I created my own music for painting which you (hopefully) can hear in the background. If you have any questions please leave a comment under this streaming video and I will try to answer everything afterwards.

Some words about me and my watercolors: Until I discovered watercolor painting for myself in 2015, it was a long, creative journey on a rather winding road. I don’t want to miss any of the different projects I’ve worked on for the past 35 years. I have no regrets – and even if the projects could not have been more different over the years, all of these experiences flow into my painting today. If you feel like it, I will accompany you to a few stations in my past. It was in 2016 that I dared to paint a large format watercolor on high quality watercolor paper for the first time. A lot has changed for me since then and I’ve spent almost every free minute with painting. After the first invitations to joint exhibitions, my first participation in the world-famous FabrianoInAcquarello festival followed in 2018 with a celebrated painting demonstration in front of a specialist audience. Since then I’ve been to several other festivals and try to convey my enthusiasm for modern watercolor painting in workshops, books and videos. – taken from my website: I use paints from Lukas Watercolor 1862, a formerly German brand with a long tradition that is now sold via Daler-Rowney from England. The demo will be painted on mould-made paper from Hahnemühle. Happy Painting! Carsten Wieland

You are a wonderfully creative Artist. I love you’ve had so much interaction with so many different creative venues. Watercolors seem to suit you, though.

Thank you so much, dear Claudia. Yes, it is wonderful how art connects people around the globe. I really enjoy that and watercolor is the best medium to express myself. 🙂

Thank you so much, Dwight. The painting process is much more important to me than the result – so it is a pleasure to share these videos. And it seems to motivate and inspire other people to paint with watercolors – which is the best thing. 🙂
