Thursday morning painting

My brushes.

I did stand up early this morning to do some painting before I had to leave for work. When I looked closer to the first wash on the paper – still a little bit sleepy- I discovered a lot of hairs on the paper and the first thing I thought was that my brushes might be ruined – but then I realized where they came from: the cats!!!  One of them did probably sleep on top of my brushes, because they were drying on the old towel. I could not finish the painting this morning, but it was still very pleasant to paint with the fall sun shining through my windows and good coffee.

Ich bin heute Morgen extra früh aufgestanden, damit ich vor der Arbeit noch malen konnte. Als ich mir dann den ersten Farbauftrag auf dem Papier ansah – immer noch ein wenig verschlafen – entdeckte ich dort eine Menge Haare. Zunächst dachte ich, ich hätte mir meine Pinsel ruiniert, aber dann wurde mir klar, woher die Extra-Haare kamen: von den Katern. Einer von ihnen hatte wohl auf ihnen geschlafen, weil sie zum Trocknen auf dem alten Handtuch lagen. Ich konnte zwar das Aquarell heute Morgen nicht fertigstellen, aber dennoch war es sehr angenehm, den Tag damit zu beginnen – im herbstlichen Sonnenschein, der durch die Fenster kam und mit viel gutem Kaffee.
