After three weeks without painting – an involuntary pause mainly because of the new work schedule – I was afraid to be a little bit stiff when I finally got back to my brushes last weekend. But my new watercolor painting turned out to be so much fun – it really was a pleasure. My video camera was going with my painting process most of the time – so there is finally a new painting video (see below) and a new free watercolor tutorial. The scenery of this painting developed in my mind through the days without painting. I guess I was thinking about some colonial abandoned architecture overgrown by the jungle. Before I started painting I made a few thumbnails where I did sketch my vison in a few different view-angles with a ball-pen. I find this method pretty helpful to develop an idea about the painting.
