Summer Evening – Impressionist Watercolor

This began as a small preliminary sketch for a full sheet, but I liked to work in this smaller format so much that it developed into small format painting. I like the spontaneous look of the brush-strokes and I am pretty sure that it would be hard to achieve this look on a full sheet. But it might be a good practice to try anyway.

Dies begann als kleine vorläufige Skizze für ein ganzes Blatt, aber ich mochte es so sehr, in diesem kleinen Format zu malen, dass es sich in ein kleines Aquarell entwickelt hat. Ich mag den spontanen Look der Pinselstriche sehr gern, und mir wird klar, dass dies in einem großen Aquarell nur sehr schwer erreichbar wäre. Aber es wäre trotzdem, oder gerade deshalb, ein gute Übung.
