Into the night – into the light

This watercolor started as an abstract and developed more and more into something reminding of a street scene. I was going to try some perspective combined with abstract painting but then it looked more and more like the advertising and other lights of a city. Although I did not reach my goal to paint something completely abstract it was fun to paint and seeing the development process. Maybe I should try a real scenery like that as a motive soon.

Dieses Aquarell begann komplett abstrakt und entwickelte sich dann mehr und mehr zu etwas, das an eine Straßenszene erinnert. Ich wollte Perspektive mit abstrakten Elementen kombinieren, aber dann sah alles sehr schnell nach Werbetafeln und anderen Lichtern einer Stadt aus. Obwohl ich mein ursprüngliches Ziel etwas ganz abstraktes zu malen nicht erreicht habe, war es doch ein großer Spaß, dies zu malen und die Entwicklung zu beobachten. Vielleicht sollte ich mich bald mal an eine reale Szenerie in dieser Art als Motiv wagen.
