I decided to paint this watercolor very quick in about 30 minutes – not much time for a full sheet, but a good practice. It is a mixture from pretty wet to almost dry-brush painting that works very good on this handmade paper from Lorenzo Santoni. It would have taken 3 times longer on Fabriano Artistico to create the color density. Probably it has a lot of mistakes in the perspective, the details in the cathedral are to dark and it is not very accurate – but I like the mood.
Ich hatte beschlossen, dieses Aquarell sehr schnell, in etwa 30 Minuten, zu malen – nicht sehr viel Zeit für ein großes Blatt, aber eine gute Übung. Es ist eine Mischung aus sehr nasser Malweise und sehr trockenen Pinselstrichen, die auf diesem handgemachten Papier von Lorenzo Santoni sehr gut funktioniert. Auf Fabriano Artistico hätte es 3 mal so lange gedauert, die Farbdichte zu schaffen. Es hat wohl einige Fehler in der Perspektive, die Details der Kathedrale sind zu dunkel geraten und es ist insgesamt nicht sehr akkurat, aber ich mag die Stimmung.
