I heard a very fascinating version of Gershwin´s classic “Summertime” , new interpreted by the French piano player Bruno Angelini when I painted this and decided I call my watercolor “Summertime”, too. It is always cool to change to another type of paper from time to time – Hahnemühle mould made/ rough in this case – and let the structure and feel of the surface inspire the way you paint.
Ich habe eine sehr faszinierende Neu-Interpretation von Gershwin´s Klassiker “Summertime” von dem französischen Pianisten Bruno Angelini gehört, als ich dies gemalt habe, und mich dann entschlossen, das Bild auch so zu nennen. Es ist immer wieder cool, von Zeit zu Zeit zu einem anderen Papier zu wechseln – in diesem Fall Hahnemühle Echt-Bütten/rau – und die Struktur und das Gefühl der Oberfläche deine Art zu malen beeinflussen zu lassen.
