My demo at FabrianoInAcquarello 2018

This was my watercolor event of the year. My first public painting demo and then in front of an expert audience at the FabrianoInAcquarello Festival. Now the video of it has been published on the festival´s YouTube channel and I am not going to keep it from you. I was not very nervous because of the demo, because I had such a beautiful support from the German group, headed by country leaders Gabriele Koenigs and Kirsi Zühlke who had convinced me of doing it for the German team, although my first thought was that this might be too early for a newbie like me. I am so grateful for this great honor and it became a beautiful experience that I will never forget in this life. Obviously I did hit the nerve of the audience, too and the overhelming applause at the end did cause me tears of happiness. I´d like to say thank you to Anna Massinissa and her team for the fabulous organisation of the whole festival that will be in my schedule for the next years for sure – because Fabriano is worth the journey, no matter if I am part of the exhibition or not.

The painting demonstration took place at the AREA Club that is usually a discotheque and although some people had been doubtful if it would be the right location for an event like that the organisation had a lucky hand by choosing it. It was beautiful to paint parallel with amazing artist Chiayee Lam from Malaysia. And it was wonderful to be supported by live music during the demonstration that mad my brushes dance.

Das war mein Aquarell-Erlebnis des Jahres. Meine erste öffentlich Mal-Vorführung und dann gleich vor dem Fach-Publikum beim FabrianoInAcquarello Festival. Jetzt ist der Video-Mitschnitt davon gerade auf dem YouTube-Kanal des Festivals erschienen und ich möchte Euch das natürlich nicht vorenthalten. Ich war angesichts der Vorführung nicht sonderlich aufgeregt, denn ich hatte tolle Unterstützung durch die Deutsche Gruppe, allen voran die Länder-Leitung Gabriele Koenigs und ihre Nachfolgerin Kirsi Zühlke, die mich beide überredet hatten, die Mal-Vorführung für das Deutsche Team zu übernehmen, obwohl ich erst nicht sicher war, ob dies für einen Neuling wie mich nicht noch ein bisschen zu früh ist. Ich bin sehr dankbar, dass mir diese große Ehre zu teil wurde und es wurde zu einem schönen Erlebnis, an das ich mein Leben lang gerne erinnern werde. Offensichtlich habe ich dann auch noch den Nerv des Publikums getroffen und der anschließende Applaus hat mir die Freudentränen in die Augen getrieben. Ich möchte mich an dieser Stelle auch noch einmal ganz herzlich bei der Organisatorin Anna Massinissa und ihrem Team für dieses insgesamt so traumhaft schöne Festival bedanken, das ich fortan als festen Termin für die kommenden Jahre einplanen werde, ganz gleich ob ich an der Ausstellung beteiligt bin oder nicht – denn Fabriano ist in jedem Fall eine Reise wert.

Die Mal-Vorführung fand im AREA Club, sonst eine Disco, statt, und obwohl einige Leute vorher skeptisch waren, ob die Location für eine Mal-Vorführung geeignet sei, hat sich herausgestellt, dass die Organisatoren hier eine glückliche Hand hatten. Es war sehr schön, parallel mit einer so renommierten Künstlerin wie Chiayee Lam aus Malaysia malen zu dürfen. Außerdem war es ganz wunderbar, beim Malen von Live-Musik unterstützt zu werden, denn die Klänge des akustischen Duos haben mich beim Malen sehr beflügelt.

Ich möchte mich bei Lorenzo Santoni für sein wunderbares handgemachtes Papier bedanken und bei Lukas Farben für ihren Support.
