Fabriano!!! It was wonderful! My first international watercolor-festival – and it was the highlight of the year. The town, the people I met, the landscape – it was awesome. And it was huge: more than 1.000 watercolors from all over the world on exhibition – and I had the honor to be one of the artists being exhibited. The catalogue is as heavy as a world encyclopedia and it was the absolutely watercolor overdose. I fell in love with the beautiful town from the first moment and I admire the landscape that surrounds the town in such a wonderful way. First I was not happy that my B & B was more than 5 miles outside of the center, but now I am so happy that I did choose the place. It was the perfect counterpart to the busy festival, up in the hills over the town with a fantastic view over the soft hills and a nature park. As if it was not enough honor to be exhibited and in the catalogue my painting demo, together with wonderful artist Chiayee Lam from Malaysia, was more than a success. We had standing ovations at the end and it was so nice that so many people came to see us paint. I´d like to say thank you to the nice people who supported me: the German group with leading ladies Gabriele Koenigs and Kirsi Zühlke. And of course Anna Massinissa and her team, who did such a great job organizing the festival.
I had problems to get everything in my video, but I hope it gives at least an impression of the beauty of Fabriano and the festival.
Arrivederci Fabriano! See you next year!
Fabriano!!!
Arrivederci Fabriano! Ich komme wieder!
Glad you had a great time… !

I have been there this year for the first time – and I am not going to miss it again. It is really beautiful to see and feel all this creative energy in watercolors – and the small but lively town is a gem, too.
