Weekend!!!

This week was a little bit strenuous. I had to work more hours and longer in the morning and that messed up my balance completely. I had to cancel my plans for continuing my film works, because I did feel too tired. I did sleep the whole time off from work. Even my watercolor painting at night did feel a bit spiritless – but I feel that it is important to keep it going anyway, because even a bad watercolor may be a good practice. Here are a few more results from the last nightshifts. And now I am just looking forward to the weekend. Have a nice weekend everybody!

  1. Well! If I did lousy watercolors like you do, I would be a happy camper! These are really enjoyable. What I like about your style is the strong contrast combined with the strong colors and the apparent (seeming) splashiness and spontaneity. That takes experience.

Do get outside, get away from the studio and the film and go have a coffee or something. Go make a snow angel. It is all too easy to sit around and do nothing.

    Thanks for such enjoyable art!

  2. Even your “off” watercolors are amazing! That part of your brain that paints appears to have continued humming along marvelously well! Nevertheless, hope you have a wonderful weekend in which to rest and recharge.

      1. Yeah, I feel so, too, Aletha! But maybe that would be boring. I think a strong winter is okay when you live countryside, but here in the city it is just an ugly mess when it snows – and the last winters here were more like endless November rain. But it is primarily the lack of daylight that bothers me. In spring, summer and fall I still get enough although I sleep most parts of the day because of my nightshift. But now in winter I only have 2 hours of daylight left when I wake up.

  3. These don’t appear to be spiritless at all! I agree with all the other comments. If these have been produced during an off period, then I certainly look forward to a re-invigorated Carsten after a good weekend – Enjoy.
