I did stay up early Tuesday morning (I had the Monday off because of Easter) and started this painting with my first coffee. It was cool outside but the sun was coming out from time to time and brought a nice painting daylight in my ´home studio´. So it became a pretty pleasant painting session and I am happy with the result. Only the old chair beside the tree did not turn out well – I should have prepared that better.
Great texture in the grass!

this one is nice but those wicker chairs do take work! I tried to do one once with my husband reading in it-ouch!

When I was a student (many many years ago) I had some practice with them – but that is long gone. I should try some for practicing and they make a good motif.

That is true! I should practice my boats and cranes more before I start with furniture. 🙂

“should” doesn’t belong in our vocabulary! What do you “need” or “want” to do? Those are the questions I try to answer. Do continue to just enjoy your work.

You are right about “Should”. “Work” does not belong there either. 🙂 It is fun and passion – even if I moan sometimes. 🙂

There is something really mysterious about that chair, planted next to the leafless tree, waiting for a visitor to the abandoned home. Spooky! And wonderful.

Thanks so much, Aletha! It is just the place where I´d rather like to sit and paint. 🙂
