Flipping through the pages of my sketchbook yesterday I found a pencil sketch of this building from about 1 year ago and decided to give it a try in watercolor. Actually it became two tries and I am not satisfied yet.
Each is so different. You’re able to get such different moods from the same motif!

Thanks so much, Aletha – but it is not the ability – it is the searching. 🙂 But my mood is changing all the time: Clear, strong and happy at the beginning of a painting and down to the ground & desperate when it is finished! LOL! 🙂 Maybe not that bad.

Makes me wonder: what would happen if you did it in each of four seasons? How would you respond to that motif?

I think I did paint a winter version some time ago. 🙂 It would be easy to change the seasons – but it is more the way I painted the building´s architecture that I am not satisfied with.
