Good morning, Sunday!

So far I am enjoying a great weekend (although the weather is far from being great: rain, rain… more rain). Last night I was invited to a concert in Gelsenkirchen, one of the other cities located around our city Essen. The concert was great in various way: I met my good old friend Ulli (he plays the guitar in this band) again after 4 years, the music of his band was great as always and the location was great, too – an artist´ s studio: http://claudia-lueke.de/en/   I did really enjoy the evening and the aching muscles in my legs remind me that it has been groovin´! 🙂

So , there is still some watercolor stuff to post from the night before. Some 5 minute sketches for getting loose and another finished steamboat painting. I am very happy with the way the smoke trail turned out.

It is still early in morning, i feel energetic and I am going to paint the whole day after having breakfast. Have a nice Sunday everybody.

  1. thank you for giving us Caudia’s site. I like her work a lot.
The use of multiple panes or canvases is particularly effective. How do you see a water-colorist using that approach? Can it be done? David Hockney did it in oils very impressively.
    And-
I wonder what you did on Sunday-do we get to see?

    1. Thanks so much, Holly. 🙂 I will probably visit her in her studio next week to see her works in a better light ( it has been dimmed down for the concert). The approach of using multiple canvases is probably suitable for any painting medium. As soon I get the feeling I can handle a single piece sovereign I might try this. Actually it is interesting for me with a background as a comicbook artist. I always had a passion for sequential art.
Sunday was just for brush practicing – nothing I´d like to show here – but it resulted in this: https://brushparkwatercolors.wordpress.com/2017/03/21/simplification/
