Waterfall

Another try on one of my favorite but challenging motives, based on the sketch I posted yesterday. I am still not 100 % happy – I think the sketch is still better than the watercolor. But I think it is much better than the first attempt on this motive. I post all three (latest watercolor, sketch, and first attempt) here for comparison.

Ein weiterer Versuch zu einem meiner Lieblingsmotive, das immer noch eine Herausforderung darstellt – basierend auf der Skizze, die ich gestern gepostet habe. Ich bin immer noch nicht 100 % glücklich mit dem Resultat – die Skizze ist immer noch besser als das Aquarell. Aber immer hin glaube ich, dass der neue Versuch viel besser gelungen ist als das erste Aquarell mit diesem Motiv. Ich poste hier alle drei (neues Aquarell, Skizze und erster Versuch) zum Vergleichen.

  3. i like them all yet they are all very different. i wonder how much the relative brush size used has to do with their variation. It is so very different painting on a big format and the timing becomes so different. Inevitably brush strokes are smaller relative to the overall painting unless one owns
    some really king size brushes-what if one did?
    what brushes did you use?
