Springtime (coming soon…)

Last weekend I finally finished my watercolor for the spring-workshop in `Aquarellieren heute´ – I guess the magazine will be published in March. I learned a lot with this painting… and I would probably paint it completely different now. LOL! 🙂 I painted this one on Fabriano Artistico rough – a wonderful paper, probably my favorite. It is the first time ever I tried to put a signature on the watercolor with a brush. 🙂

Am vergangenen Wochenende konnte ich mein Aquarell für den Frühlings-Workshop in “Aquarellieren heute” fertigstellen – ich glaube, das Magazin wird dann im Laufe des März erscheinen. Ich habe bei diesem Aquarell eine Menge gelernt… und würde es inzwischen vielleicht ganz anders malen. LOL! 🙂 Ich habe dieses Bild auf Fabriano Artistico rauh gemalt – ein wunderbares Papier, wahrscheinlich mein Favorit. Es ist das erste Mal, dass ich versucht habe, mit dem Pinsel eine Signatur auf das Aquarell zu pinseln. 🙂

  1. Beautiful and vibrant….your signature came out just perfect. I have been thinking that I need to practice writing my sig. on my paintings. Can you give me the details on how you did yours? I have been going back and forth with ideas of which would be best for me.

    1. Thanks so much, Margaret! To be honest: I tried about 50 signatures on an empty sheet first – and then I decided for one that it is pretty similiar to my normal Signatur, just the initials a little bit bigger and into each other. I found out that writing with a rigger brush might be a good practice anyway. I was thinking about some abstract watercolors combined with calligraphic elements. The paint has to fluid enough and on the other hand opaque enough to sit on top.
