Sketches at night

Two watercolor-sketches from last night to keep me awake. On the pages of my sketchbook I feel more free to experiment than on the big sheet. I hope that I can break down this wall in my head one day completely. But it seems that my respect of the empty watercolor sheet is still too big. I think I have to work on this a little bit more, although I have the feeling that it is getting better already.

  1. Oh… yes ! and you have put it in words:
” I feel more free to experiment (in the sketchbook) than on the big sheet. I hope that I can break down this wall in my head one day completely. But it seems that my respect of the empty watercolor sheet is still too big.”
-That’s it! i wonder if i could get up the courage to wash off the big sheets when they go bad or maybe gesso over and try again. But its hard to throw away a painting even if it isn’t any good.
