The Pit

I wanted to try a watercolor with extensive use of darks for while – and last night / this morning I finally have been “brave” enough to dip the brush deep into the neutral tint. 🙂 I did mix in some Ultramarine blue at some spots because the pure neutral tint looked a little bit flat. I will probably try a similar picture again because I could have been much more bold with the brush. Anyway: I like the atmosphere of this scene.

Ich wollte schon länger mal ein Aquarell mit intensiver Dunkelheit malen – und gestern Abend / heute Morgen war ich endlich „mutig“ genug, den Pinsel tief in die Neutral-Tinte zu tauchen. 🙂 Hier und da habe ich etwas Ultramarin Blau eingemischt, weil mir die pure Neutral-Tinte etwas zu flach wirkte. Ich werde bald vermutlich noch einmal ein ähnliches Motiv versuchen, weil ich bei diesem Bild noch etwas vorsichtig mit dem Pinsel war. Trotzdem: Ich mag die Atmosphäre dieser Szene.
