House Of The Rising Sun

228_2016 Watercolor ´House Of The Rising Sun´ / Fabriano artistico satinized – ca. 76 x 56 cm / 29.9 x 22.0 in / Lukas Aquarell 1862

I finally had the chance to finish this full-sheet today. It is always a little bit tricky to get back to a unfinished piece after a while, but I feel happy with the atmosphere of this painting.

      1. Thanks so much, again Debi. I guess I have a unique Feeling for These old rotten houses . Some people find the creepy – I see them as aged beauties. When I was in Michigan almost 3 years ago I have seen so many of them and was really impressed. And they have been the reason to start painting again after a 20 year break. It is probably a unique relation – LOL!:-)

      2. I always had a passion for ´aged beauties´. When I was a youngster our family moved to the German Ruhr Area. Back then in the early 80s it was the variation in rust colors of the old industrial sites here, in the 90s it was the mixture of red bricks, old harbor cranes and rusty ship wrecks in the Hamburg harbor and now it is old houses and gnarly trees in addition. All these together make up a beautiful and inspiring palette, Debi. 🙂
