Feels like autumn coming

238_2016 Watercolor-Sketches /Daler-Rowney Graduate Sketchbook, 2x 21,0 x 29,7 cm / 8.3 x 11.7 in / Lukas Aquarell 1862 / ´Feels like autumn coming´ – Monday-morning sketch.

Today it feels like autumn here. Grey sky, rain, cool air. For tomorrow the forecasts announces high temperatures again (30° C / 86°F) and I find these changes a little bit strenuous – this summer the weather is little bit like a rollercoaster. I wanted to paint today´s sketch outdoors this morning, but after a few brushstrokes I had to run home again because it started to rain. This way the colors became less intense compared to yesterday´s sketch.

  1. Like the subtly changing colors of August, your work captures the journey of the poet still grieving the end of spring and dreading the approaching autumn. I love your work!

      1. That is a very kind & generous offer, my friend. I have one to offer you: I will write a poem and send it to you so you can either pick or pain one of your fabulous sketches for it and we post it together . . . Think about it. Send me an email in response at peternotehelfer@gmail.com and let me know what you think . . .

      2. Thanks for your reply on my comment, Peter. I love your idea and it would be awesome to do that together. In this case I would prefer if you give me a little time to react on your input with a watercolor that is inspired by your poem. I did send you an email.
