My Marburg Watercolor-Sketchbook – May 2016

From May, 9th to May, 13th i visited the beautiful city of Marburg where i did spend a happy childhood about 40 years ago. It has been an awesome journey back into my past filled with beautiful memories and discovering a lot of places i did not see before. Time was too short to follow my plan and paint a lot there – so i just drew some rough pencil sketches into my sketchbook which i watercolored during the last week back home. I am finished now and decided to put them together in an album. It has been a nice way to revisit my little journey.

      1. Ola – i do admire these gentlemen´s art too. Especially Andrew Wyeth has been my absolutely favorite since i know the word watercolor, beside John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, John Pike and Edward Hopper. But there are so many really fantastic watercolor-artists today, too: Alvaro Castagnet, Joseph Zbukvic, Bernhard Vogel… Thanks to the web i have seen so many just awesome watercolor works that it is sometimes hard to try myself. But as long i just paint because i love to do it i can just enjoy their amazing art and feel inspired in an unpretentious way.
